Basketball Recap: Patuxent Takes a Loss

Patuxent was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 55-47 to the La Plata Warriors. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 45-40.

La Plata found their leader in sophomore Aniyah Sisco, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was Sisco's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Mellon, who posted six points.

Patuxent's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for La Plata, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-14.

Patuxent will face off against St. Charles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Charles is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season. As for La Plata, they will square off against Westlake at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. La Plata is facing Westlake at the right time seeing as Westlake is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
