Volleyball Game Preview: Alcuin Hawks vs. Cambridge Lions

Alcuin is a perfect 4-0 against Cambridge since October of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Hawks will host the Lions at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Cambridge is facing Alcuin at the wrong time: Alcuin suffered their first home loss of the season on Tuesday and they're likely out for redemption. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-17, 25-9.

Meanwhile, Cambridge came up short against Faustina Academy back in September and fell 2-0. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost five in a row.

The final score came out to 25-1, 25-11.

Alcuin's defeat dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Cambridge, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything went Alcuin's way against Cambridge in their previous meeting back in August of 2023, as Alcuin made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
