Soccer Game Preview: D'Iberville vs. Ocean Springs

D'Iberville is 1-9 against Ocean Springs since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The D'Iberville Warriors will welcome the Ocean Springs Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m.

Last Friday, D'Iberville didn't have quite enough to beat Biloxi and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Ocean Springs had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They never let the Yellow Jackets onto the board and left with a 4-0 win. Given the Greyhounds' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 84th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ocean Springs' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for D'Iberville, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2-1.
