Western Reserve has gone 9-1 against New London recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Roughriders will venture away from home to face off against the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Western Reserve lost 3-0 to Monroeville on Thursday. The Roughriders have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Monroeville scored at least 21 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-23, 25-23.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when New London challenged Crestview on Thursday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2. Wildcats fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Cougars since Thursday.

New London took Crestview into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking nine-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 23-25, 18-25, 25-21, 15-6.

New London's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Western Reserve, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Western Reserve was able to grind out a solid win over New London in their previous matchup on September 4th, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Roughriders since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
