Basketball Recap: Jadyn Climer Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Palmyra

Hamilton's game on Saturday was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against the Palmyra Panthers by a score of 53-46. The win was all the more spectacular given the Cardinals' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 268th in Illinois, while the Panthers are ranked 64th in Missouri).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hamilton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jadyn Climer, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 17 boards. With that strong performance, Climer is now averaging an impressive 8.5 rebounds per game. Dettriona Church was another key player, putting up ten points and three blocks.

Hamilton's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Palmyra, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hamilton will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Fort Madison at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Palmyra, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Palmyra Panthers face off against the Kirksville Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025.
