Softball Recap: Marshall Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Marshall waltzed into their contest on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Fowlerville Gladiators as they made off with a 13-4 victory. Considering the Redhawks have won four games by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Bella Ryan was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Layne Churchill, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Marshall kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Marshall's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Fowlerville, they moved to 3-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Marshall will head out to take on Lakeview at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Fowlerville, they will square off against Howell at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gladiators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Highlanders have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
