Baseball Game Preview: First State Military Academy Bulldogs vs. Newark Charter School Patriots

For the first time this season, First State Military Academy will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Newark Charter School Patriots at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither First State Military Academy nor Newark Charter School posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

First State Military Academy is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Woodbridge on Thursday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

First State Military Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Belford, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Newark Charter School fell victim to Delaware Military Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Seahawks.

First State Military Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Newark Charter School when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-3.
