Baseball Game Preview: Lehighton Indians vs. Palisades Pirates

The Lehighton Indians are taking a road trip to square off against the Palisades Pirates at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lehighton will be strutting in after a win while Palisades will be coming in after a loss.

On Wednesday, Lehighton was able to grind out a solid victory over Catasauqua, taking the game 7-4. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Rough Riders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Cody Snyder was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayse Lawrence, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Palisades came up short against Northwestern Lehigh on Wednesday, falling 11-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Palisades saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ted Mussleman, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Lehighton pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Palisades, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
