Softball Recap: Southside Takes a Loss

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, Southside was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 11-1 to the East Carteret Mariners. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Seahawks of the 15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Southside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily McLean, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9-1. As for East Carteret, their victory bumped their record up to 10-13.

While Southside had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
