Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Bunker Hill's Ninth in Last 11 Outings

After only one run in their last game, Bunker Hill made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bandys on Thursday. The Bears put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 10-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won seven matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Serena Thurman was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Thurman was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Bunker Hill got a massive performance out of Ivy Bowman, who went 2-for-5 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI. Those two triples gave Bowman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kyra Ryhal, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Bunker Hill has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Bandys, they moved to 14-7 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Coming up, Bunker Hill will take on Elyria in a tournament on Tuesday. Bandys does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
