Volleyball Recap: Thousand Oaks Extends Winning Streak to Three

Thousand Oaks entered their tilt with Oxnard on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Yellowjackets. The Lancers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Yellowjackets, too.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Thousand Oaks got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 27-25, 19-25, 25-23, 23-25, 15-9.

Soren Klem had an outrageously good game as he had 20 digs and seven assists. Those 20 digs gave him a new career-high. Jayson Hill also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Thousand Oaks was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oxnard only served nine aces.

Despite the loss, Oxnard still got an impressive performance from Levi Martinez, who had four digs and three aces.

Thousand Oaks' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-14. As for Oxnard, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-17 record this season.

Thousand Oaks wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Western Christian on the 30th. As for Oxnard, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against La Serna on the 29th.
