Basketball Recap: Churubusco's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Churubusco hadn't done well against West Noble recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Churubusco Eagles took down the West Noble Chargers 42-25. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Chargers back in December of 2024, they had to take a 33-28 defeat.

Despite the loss, West Noble saw an underclassman step up: freshman Ava Delong posted six points and ten boards. Stella Venturi also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Churubusco moved to 6-12 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for West Noble, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Churubusco will welcome Lakeland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Noble, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Eastside at 7:30 p.m. Eastside will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something West Noble surely won't give up without a fight.
