Preview: Wapakoneta Redskins vs. Badin Rams

The Wapakoneta Redskins will head out on the road to face off against the Badin Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Wapakoneta sitting on ten straight victories and Badin on 12.

Wapakoneta extended their postseason success on Friday against Butler. They breezed by the Aviators on the road to the tune of 42-7. The result was nothing new for Wapakoneta, who have now won nine matches by 27 points or more so far this season.

Wapakoneta relied on the efforts of Caleb Moyer, who rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, and Jace Knous, who rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Moyer was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 63 yards.

Meanwhile, Badin strolled past Bellbrook with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 24-6. Given Badin's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Bellbrook is ranked 118th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wapakoneta pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Shawnee and 1-10 Ottawa-Glandorf (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.4% over those games). As for Badin, their win bumped their record up to 12-0.

Wapakoneta came up short against Badin in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 16-9. Can Wapakoneta avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
