Volleyball Preview: Susquehannock Warriors vs. Red Lion Lions
The Susquehannock Warriors will challenge the Red Lion Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Susquehannock will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Last Wednesday, Susquehannock made easy work of Eastern York and carried off a 3-0 win.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-19, 25-12.
Lily Morton was nothing short of spectacular: she had 15 digs and five aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Machenzie Turk, who had three digs and two aces.
She wasn't the only good server: Susquehannock was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Red Lion narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Shippensburg 3-2.
Red Lion took Shippensburg into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 25-21, 22-25, 17-25, 25-14, 15-11.
Susquehannock pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Red Lion, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-0-2.
