Volleyball Recap: Brookfield Takes a Loss

Brookfield managed to slip by Nonnewaug the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bobcats lost 3-0 to the Chiefs on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bobcats have suffered since November 5, 2024.

While Brookfield was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-22, 25-18.

Jordan Kovach was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 17 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September.

Brookfield moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Nonnewaug, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Brookfield is taking a road trip to challenge Masuk at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nonnewaug, they will take on Housatonic-Lakeview at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
