Volleyball Recap: Lincoln North Star Navigators vs. Lincoln High Links
Lincoln North Star had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Lincoln High Links. While the Navigators didn't have the best season last year (they finished 14-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Lincoln North Star was dominant in the first set, but otherwise had just enough against a tough Lincoln High squad. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-18.
Lincoln North Star can attribute much of their success to Ivanna Ramos Berrios, who had eight digs and four aces. That's the most aces Ramos Berrios has posted in she last nine games.
Lincoln North Star's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Lincoln High, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing Grand Island the next time they take the court. Lincoln High will head out to face Grand Island at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Lincoln North Star will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
