Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Waccamaw). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the North Charleston Cougars a 17-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Tyson Strickland looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Waccamaw's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 4-2 (and 7-10 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Waccamaw got a massive performance out of Evan Barnett, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Barnett a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Craft, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Waccamaw's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for North Charleston, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
