Cheyenne has gone 7-0 against Eldorado recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cheyenne Desert Shields are taking a road trip to face off against the Eldorado Firehawks at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Cheyenne took a blow against Legacy, falling 71-18. While losing is never fun, the Desert Shields can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Longhorns are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Eldorado's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a hard 45-30 fall against Valley.

Cheyenne will need focus on slowing down Jasmine Rodriquez, one of several Eldorado players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 12 points. Rodriquez continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Skyler Bell, who scored eight points.

Eldorado's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Cheyenne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Cheyenne didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Eldorado in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 45-40 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Eldorado's Tyteaira Foreman, who had 25 points.
