Baseball Recap: King Academy Has No Trouble Against Ridge Spring-Monetta

King Academy's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans 19-4. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

King Academy got a massive performance out of Casen Buzhardt, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. The Knights are 3-1 when Buzhardt posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Elijah Hutto, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

King Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .765. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

King Academy pushed their record up to 6-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, their record now sits at 1-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King Academy will face off against Wardlaw Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.38 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Calhoun County at 6:00 p.m. The Trojans are facing the Saints at the right time seeing as the Saints are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
