Baseball Recap: Lane Tech Wins Going Away Against Ogden International

Lane Tech had won three straight at home, but on Wednesday they bumped their record up to 19-9 to make it four. They put the hurt on Ogden International with a sharp 13-3 win. The Champions haven't had any issues with Ogden International recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Bennett Levinson looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Conor Sullivan was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Henry Murray, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Lane Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ogden International only posted an OBP of .286.

As for Ogden International, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. Their defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

On Ogden International's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was AJ Ramirez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lane Tech will welcome Chicago Hope Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last four games Chicago Hope Academy has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Ogden International, they will host Disney II at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
