Softball Recap: Woodland Warriors vs. Dwight Trojans

Woodland extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-16 in the process. They fell 8-5 to the Dwight Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 on Monday.

Emma Palaschak made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

As for Dwight, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-15. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games.

On Dwight's side, Madi Ely made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Ely has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Mckenna Woodcock was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Raegan Brown also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

As of now, neither Woodland nor Dwight have any future games scheduled.
