Recap: Western Indians vs. Eastern Eagles

This season hasn't been kind to the Western Indians, who are still winless after their 11th game. They fell 37-29 to Eastern on Thursday. Western was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Eastern apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Western's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Breleigh Tackett, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three blocks, and Lauren Ware who scored nine points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Tackett posted two or more blocks.

Western bumped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Eastern, their win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Oak Hill at 6:30 p.m. on January 8th. Eastern will take on South Gallia at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
