Softball Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends Newsome's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Newsome unfortunately witnessed the end of their 12-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 9-3 to the East Lake Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wolves have suffered since February 22, 2024.

Newsome saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amaya Nunez, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Newsome's defeat dropped their record down to 15-4. As for East Lake, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Newsome will look to defend their home field on Monday against Strawberry Crest at 7:00 p.m. The Wolves will need to watch out since the Chargers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for East Lake, they will venture away from home to take on Manatee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
