Softball Recap: New Trier Snags 12th Win in Last 15 Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Loyola Academy, New Trier was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They never let the Vernon Hills Cougars get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. Considering the Trevians have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

New Trier is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Vernon Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-21.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Trier will welcome Amundsen at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vernon Hills, they will take on Lake Zurich at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
