Kaleb Pone's Big Game Leads North Johnston over Spring Creek

Starting off the list is North Johnston's Kaleb Pone, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Pone rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 105 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 127 rushing yards.

The win (which was North Johnston's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Pone and North Johnston will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Beddingfield at 7:00 p.m.

Austin Lewallen Turns in Season-Best Performance

Sadly, Austin Lewallen posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Princeton over Eastern Wayne on Friday. Lewallen rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.

Lewallen might have his next game, a home matchup with Goldsboro, circled on his calendar. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Lewallen saw the Cougars), he rushed for 183 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries.

Traquin Watson put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in September of 2023 on Friday. He picked up a sack and made three total tackles. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making three total tackles.

If history really does repeat itself, Watson might just drop another big game when he faces off against Beddingfield on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Watson saw the Bruins), he picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Jahtavious Johnson Puts an End to Beddingfield's Losing Streak on Friday

Beddingfield's five-game losing streak dating back to last season is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Jahtavious Johnson. Nobody could stop Johnson on Friday as he rushed for 17 yards and a touchdown.

Beddingfield's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. Johnson and Beddingfield will be playing in front of their home fans against North Johnston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Jamauris Howard put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in October of 2023 on Friday. He picked up 79 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown.
