Recap: Stratford Elks vs. Tolar Rattlers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Stratford Elks can now relate to. They had to suffer through a rough 35-7 loss at the hands of the Rattlers. Stratford's defeat signaled the end of their 14-game winning streak.
Bryce Braden threw for 120 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 120 yards and a touchdown.
Julio Valdez was his top target, picking up 71 receiving yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Isaac Blessing, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 65 yards and two touchdowns on only five passes for Tolar. Peyton Brown and his 90 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Tolar's win.
Stratford's loss dropped their record down to 14-1. As for Tolar, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 14-1.
Stratford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tolar will head out on the road to face off against Timpson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Timpson is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Tolar a 11-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
