Basketball Game Preview: Dixon Bulldogs vs. South Brunswick Cougars

Having just played yesterday, the Dixon Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the South Brunswick Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Dixon is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Dixon will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Heide Trask, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Titans by a score of 53-42 on Tuesday. While the Bulldogs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, South Brunswick won against East Columbus two weeks ago with 66 points and they decided to stick to that point total again last Tuesday. The Cougars walked away with a 66-59 victory over West Brunswick. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Dixon better keep an eye on Meryn Deutsch. She was instrumental in South Brunswick's win, going 10-for-16 en route to 26 points along with six assists and four steals. The game was Deutsch's third in a row with at least 26 points. Adyson Bell was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards.

South Brunswick was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Dixon's record now sits at 5-0. As for South Brunswick, their record is now 3-1.

Dixon didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against South Brunswick in their previous meeting back in November, but they still walked away with a 40-34 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
