Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Luke Jordan and Malik Henderson Lead Chipley to Victory

Chipley won the last time they faced Cottondale and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Chipley Tigers managed a 69-63 win over the Cottondale Hornets.

Leading Chipley to victory were Malik Henderson and Luke Jordan. Henderson went 11 of 16 on his way to 25 points and eight boards, while Jordan posted 14 points. Those 25 points gave Henderson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taquavis Gray, who scored seven points.

Cottondale's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tramond Collins, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Collins is becoming a predictor of Cottondale's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 7-3 (and 2-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Cameron Odom, who went 7 for 12 en route to 17 points.

Chipley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Cottondale, they dropped their record down to 9-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Chipley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-64 victory against Bozeman on the 16th. Cottondale has also already played their next contest, a 53-41 win against Sneads on the 17th.
