Volleyball Recap: Carrollton Takes a Loss

Carrollton managed to slip by Trinity Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Trojans lost 3-0 to the Lions on Thursday. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

While Carrollton ultimately came up short, they really made Trinity Christian work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-14, 26-24, 25-17.

Cami Kabaczy paced Carrollton's offense, picking up eight kills. Kabaczy got some help from Esperanza Sanchez Villanueva and her 15 assists. Kabaczy also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Marian Roenigk, racking up four apiece.

This is the second loss in a row for Carrollton and nudges their season record down to 7-7. As for Trinity Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Carrollton is taking a road trip to challenge Kell at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Trinity Christian, they will welcome Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
