Basketball Game Preview: Steinbrenner Warriors vs. East Lake Eagles

The Steinbrenner Warriors will take on the East Lake Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Steinbrenner's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so East Lake's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Steinbrenner is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Bloomingdale just ended the team's 11-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 69-56 to the Bulls.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, East Lake rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They took down the Royals 45-31. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

East Lake found their leader in freshman Savanna Wall, who went 6 for 15 en route to 14 points. Ariya Topps was another key player, putting up nine points.

East Lake's win bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Steinbrenner, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 22-2.

Steinbrenner strolled past East Lake when the teams last played back in January of 2022 by a score of 72-55. Does Steinbrenner have another victory up their sleeve, or will East Lake turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
