Softball Game Preview: The Webb School Feet vs. Franklin Road Academy Panthers

The Webb School is 1-8 against Franklin Road Academy since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Webb School Feet will square off against the Franklin Road Academy Panthers at 4:30 p.m.

The Webb School's last matchup with Grace Christian Academy could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Tuesday. The Webb School came up short against Grace Christian Academy, falling 15-0. The Feet have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Franklin Road Academy got themselves on the board against Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet on Monday, but Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet never followed suit. Everything went their way against the Royals as they made off with a 15-0 victory. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Royals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Millie Pardue made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple.

In other batting news, Lillian Van Allen and Breyannah Williams did most of the damage at the plate: Van Allen scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Williams scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs Van Allen has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maillie Fuson, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Franklin Road Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet only posted an OBP of .000.

Franklin Road Academy's record now sits at 2-0. As for The Webb School, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

The Webb School might still be hurting after the 16-4 loss they got from Franklin Road Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can The Webb School avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
