Soccer Recap: University Comes Up Short

University was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the John Marshall Monarchs. University were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as John Marshall apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

University's goal came courtesy of Sam Stanley, who's now up to two this season.

University's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for John Marshall, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.

University wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 6-0 loss against Morgantown on the 18th. As for John Marshall, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-0 defeat against Wheeling Park on the 18th.
