Basketball Recap: Northeast Guilford Rams vs. Southern Guilford Storm
The Northeast Guilford Rams lost against the Southern Guilford Storm back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Northeast Guilford took a 65-47 bruising from the Storm. Northeast Guilford has struggled against the Storm recently, as their match on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Northeast Guilford lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jackson Hester. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Aaryn Tate, who scored seven points.
Northeast Guilford has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Southern Guilford, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with that victory, which was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season.
Northeast Guilford will take on the Bison at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully High Point Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday. As for Southern Guilford, they will head out on the road to take on the Camels at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Atkins will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 423rd, while the Storm are ranked 44th).
