Softball Preview: Chippewa Chipps vs. Norwayne Bobcats

Chippewa is 0-10 against Norwayne since April of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Chipps will venture away from home to challenge the Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. Chippewa has given up an average of 10.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Chippewa's last matchup with Northwestern could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Chipps lost 14-4 to the Huskies.

Kyleigh Gartin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Madi Ries, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Norwayne, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They never let Hillsdale get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won 15 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Abby Workman made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Chippewa, their loss dropped their record down to 7-18.
