Soccer Game Preview: Jasper vs. Castle

The Jasper Wildcats will head out to challenge the Castle Knights at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Jasper's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, neither Jasper nor Washington could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 3-3 draw.

Meanwhile, Castle kept a clean sheet against Evansville Reitz on Tuesday. They blew past the Panthers 6-0. The result was nothing new for Castle, who have now won five matches by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Evansville Reitz with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Isaiah Goodge (2), Quinn Mohr (2), Caiden Hawkins, and Merrick Joska.

The victory made it two in a row for Castle and bumps their season record up to 10-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matchups. With that draw, Jasper's record moves to 7-3-2.

Jasper might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Castle when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
