Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Cypress Creek

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Cypress Creek ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Jersey Village Falcons 4-3. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by just one run.

Jacob Ross was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 8.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Ross was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

Ross wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Boan, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base and one run. Those two hits gave Boan a new career-high.

The win (which was Cypress Creek's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-20-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.25 runs across that stretch. As for Jersey Village, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season.

As of now, neither Cypress Creek nor Jersey Village have any future games scheduled.
