Basketball Game Preview: Memorial Day Matadors vs. Southside Christian Patriots

Having just played yesterday, the Memorial Day Matadors will get right back to it and host the Southside Christian Patriots at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Memorial Day has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with four straight losses, while Southside Christian will come in with three straight victories.

On Thursday, Memorial Day lost to Savannah Christian on the road by a 52-36 margin. The game marked the Matadors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Southside Christian narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Faith Baptist Christian Academy 64-62.

Southside Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Memorial Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Everything went Memorial Day's way against Southside Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2022, as Memorial Day made off with a 68-48 win.
