It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Norco had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Laguna Beach Breakers. The victory was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won 11 matchups in a row.

Landon Hovermale spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dylan Seward, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

Norco's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Laguna Beach, they moved to 25-4 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Norco will face off against Corona at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. Laguna Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
