Softball Recap: Blake Victorious

Blake hadn't done well against Freedom recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets walked away with a 15-10 victory over the Patriots. For the Yellow Jackets, this counts as revenge for the 35-32 win the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.

C Hobbs made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Blake got a massive performance out of J Feliciano, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Z Newton, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Blake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .528 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Blake's record now sits at 6-8. As for Freedom, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Blake didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 23-13 defeat against Leto on the 17th. As for Freedom, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-5 loss against Jefferson on the 17th.
