Even though they lost, Weed didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with nine strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trinity only tossed five.
Trinity's win bumped their record up to 3-17. As for Weed, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Trinity beat Weed by a score of 5-2 later that day.
