For the first time this season, Shallowater will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. After each having a week off, they and the Bushland Falcons will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shallowater will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

Shallowater is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup last Friday with ease, bagging a 59-7 victory over Pecos. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Mustangs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 386th, while the Eagles are ranked 858th).

Cooper Martin was his usual excellent self, throwing for 299 yards and three TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also punching in one touchdown on the ground. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (165.2). Rylan Jephcott also helped out with an impressive 80 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Bushland's contest last Friday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. Everything went their way against Andrews as they made off with a 34-12 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Shallowater now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Bushland, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
