Soccer Recap: Schalmont Takes a Loss

Despite a strong season so far, Schalmont has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Voorheesville Blackbirds. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Schalmont came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 144th, while Voorheesville are ranked 321st).

Schalmont hit Voorheesville with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Connor Byrnes, Santiago Vega, and Howard Nielson.

Schalmont's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4-1. As for Voorheesville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-7-2.

As of now, neither Schalmont nor the Blackbirds have any future games scheduled.
