Mineral Ridge waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Garfield G-Men 8-6. Eight seems to be a good number for the Rams as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Jack Gillie was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Xavier Klamer, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Mineral Ridge's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Garfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-5.

Coming up, Mineral Ridge will venture away from home to square off against Jackson-Milton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Garfield, they will welcome Harding at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
