Baseball Game Preview: Granger Lancers vs. Hunter Wolverines

For the second straight game, Granger will face off against Hunter. The Lancers will be playing at home against the Wolverines at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Granger's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Hunter with a sharp 10-0 victory. The Lancers have beaten the Wolverines the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wolverines has come to flipping the script.

Hugo Cubillan was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Granger is 2-1 when Cubillan posts two or more runs, but 2-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Raniero Gonzalez, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Granger always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Hunter is on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15. As for Granger, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.
