Basketball Recap: Bertrand Comes Up Short

Bertrand played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Blue Hill Bobcats an easy 44-24 victory. The Vikings have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Bertrand got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Brooklyn Evans and Livia Philips, who each put up seven points. Addison Andersen took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Blue Hill had a senior duo take command as Ellie Mangers went 8 of 11 on her way to 20 points and Reece Mlady posted 12 points and eight rebounds. With that strong performance, Mangers is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Kohmetscher, who put up two points and five rebounds.

Bertrand now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Blue Hill, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Bertrand didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-23 victory against Gibbon on the 30th. As for Blue Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 40-18 loss against Southern Valley on the 27th.
