Baseball Recap: River Valley Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

The home team had won the previous four meetings between River Valley and Prairie du Chien, and River Valley kept the tradition alive. River Valley came out on top against Prairie du Chien by a score of 7-3 on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for River Valley: when they faced off against Prairie du Chien back in April, they had to take a 4-3 loss.

River Valley's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Quincy Blakley, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. Blakley has become a key player for River Valley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-14 otherwise. Another was Colton Cady, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

River Valley's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-14. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Prairie du Chien, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.

Looking ahead, River Valley will head out to square off against Mineral Point at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Prairie du Chien has already played their next match (against La Crosse Logan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
