After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Mary's, Archbishop Mitty was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Pleasant Grove Eagles 8-2. The Monarchs not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 5th (when they won 9-2).

Gabe Lopez and Shota Oyama dominated on the mound. Lopez pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits, while Oyama tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lopez has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Derek Allen was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Brayden Cristobal, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Archbishop Mitty hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Archbishop Mitty now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Pleasant Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.

Archbishop Mitty didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-3 defeat against Oak Ridge on the 17th. As for Pleasant Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-3 loss against Liberty on the 17th.
