Basketball Recap: Danbury Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Danbury came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 36-31 W against the Woodmore Wildcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 53-42 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Danbury to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maci Brown, who posted seven points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. Brown has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 27 times she's played. Ella McDonald was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.

Danbury smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Danbury's record now sits at 18-3. As for Woodmore, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.

Danbury didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-43 win against Calvert on the 8th. As for Woodmore, they will welcome Gibsonburg at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Gibsonburg is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season.
