Basketball Recap: Brody Burke's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Roosevelt over Timnath

Roosevelt suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Timnath Cubs, falling 55-32. The Roughriders were down 43-21 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Roosevelt lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brody Burke, who posted four points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Grosboll, who earned five points.

Timnath was led to victory by Max Roselle and Luke Jacobson. Roselle went 8 for 14 on his way to 19 points and seven boards, while Jacobson went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jack Hemme, who put up nine points.

Roosevelt dropped their record down to 7-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Timnath, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Roosevelt has already played their next game, a 61-49 loss against Thompson Valley on the 23rd. As for Timnath, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 106-34 win against Wellington on the 24th.
