Recap: La Pryor Bulldogs vs. Utopia Buffaloes
This season hasn't been kind to the La Pryor Bulldogs, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They took a serious blow against Utopia on Monday, falling 65-36. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for La Pryor in their matchups with Utopia: they've now lost four in a row.
Utopia's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charlie Leman, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. Cooper Wernette was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
La Pryor's loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-8. As for Utopia, the victory got them back to even at 9-9-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Pryor will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Stockdale at 2:00 p.m. on December 29th. Utopia won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Rocksprings at 6:30 p.m. on December 19th. Rocksprings is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
